Some sculptors prefer to make abstract clay objects and arts. Of course, it's a matter of taste. I prefer to sculpt "real life objects" where the sources consist of photographs, live models or just memories from daily occasions.
In our courses, we haven't covered all different types of available techniques. All we do is making use of a small set of tools and either white or red simple clay. Members of the group occasionally paint their work as well, but in general, I don't do that. The "More waiters" gig is just one exception...and not a very good one.
Since I only work on these objects once a week for a couple of hours, every item requires three to five weeks to complete. No courses during summer months due to vacations. All in all, I have completed about 20 pieces so far. Perhaps I can have the Gallery expanded a bit in the near future, in order to show some more.
